Defenders Ferdi Kadioglu, Igor Julion and Lewis Dunk are injured and unlikely to make the squad.

Goalkeeper Jason Steele and midfielder James Milner are set to miss out due to injury.

Georginio Rutter is likely to start on Friday after scoring five goals and assisting once in his last six matches.

Chelsea Form

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are also in patchy recent form, failing to win in seven of their previous 10 in all competitions. The Blues are winless in five successive away games and haven’t won on the road since mid-December.

Chelsea have struggled to generate winning momentum in the Premier League recently. Home wins over Wolves 3-1 and West Ham 2-1 came either side of a 3-1 loss at Man City.

The West London side lost a second conseucitve away game and fell to a 2-1 cup defeat at Brighton. Chelsea led through Brighton’s own goal but struggled to use their 58% possession and conceded twice.
