Burnley vs Newcastle

Burnley are in desperate need of points as they are second bottom of the League, six points below Forest in 17th place. They’ve scored 19 goals to 34 conceded this season, so Newcastle should pour the attack on them non-stop. Newcastle are level on goals scored and conceded, which makes them a threat for Burnley. They have also beaten Burnley in 7 of their last 8 meetings, and haven’t lost to them in their last 9 meetings.

The Toon have lost just 3 of their last 10 matches, while Burnley have lost 7 of their last 9 matches, with their most recent 2 matches being draws against Bournemouth and Everton. They’ve also lost 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 home games - failing to score in four of those matches - so this is stacking up as a Newcastle win.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Chelsea’s fire has been slow-burning but they're starting to fire, with a plus-11 goal difference. Bournemouth are well-placed 9 points above the drop zone, but they’ll be eager for a point to keep building a gap with the bottom three.

Bournemouth have eked out 3 draws from their last 5 matches against Chelsea, and with Chelsea winning just four of their last 10 matches this has the sense of being a possible point for The Cherries. Bournemouth’s record isn’t great, with no wins in 9 along with 4 draws and 5 losses, but they’ve drawn 3 of their last 4, so just maybe they can eke out another draw against The Blues.

Nottingham vs Everton

Forest are in trouble just one place above the drop zone, while Everton are in 12th place, just 4 points shy of Europe. Everton have won 4 of their last 8, but they haven’t won in 3 matches, losing twice and drawing once.

Forest have won 6 of their last 10 matches - 2 of which were in Europe - and their home record is strong, with 4 wins and a draw from their last 7 matches at home. Everton’s away form is patchy, winning just 3 of their last 10 on the road and losing 5. I think Forest will hold out on their visitors for an invaluable point.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

Villa are having the time of their lives and are breathing down Arsenal’s neck. City in 3rd place, Villa are 3 points behind leaders Arsenal and 7 above a resurgent Liverpool. Villa trump Arsenal in their recent meetings, although both sides have incredibly won 17 of their last 20 games, with two losses and a draw.

Villa have the better recent form, with a 10-match winning streak compared to Arsenal’s 5 wins on the bounce. However, Arsenal have won 14 and drawn one of their last 15 home games. Everton have picked up a handful of losses on the road, so I’m backing Arsenal to raise their game to claim the 3 points and hold onto the lead of the League.
