Liverpool entertain Chelsea on the night they will finally lift the English Premier League trophy. The clash at Anfield on Wednesday night means more to UEFA Champions League-chasing Chelsea, but Liverpool will want to end their successful campaign with a win at home.

Liverpool Form & News

Since officially becoming champions, Liverpool have fallen apart. They were smashed 4-0 at Manchester City, edged past Aston Villa 2-0 at home and Brighton 3-1 away, before a surprise home 1-1 draw with Burnley.

In their previous match, they were defeated 2-1 at Arsenal. Sadio Mane gave Jurgen Klopp’s charges the lead, but a defensive horror show handed The Gunners victory.

Before being crowned champions, Liverpool had won 29 of their 32 league matches, but it appears now that the pressure is off, they are stumbling towards the end of the season.

Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson for this game in midfield. Another player who won’t be in contention is Joel Matip at centre back. Adam Lallana also won’t be considered as his deal expires at the end of month and an injury ahead of a transfer won’t be risked according to Jurgen Klopp.

Chelsea Form & News

Chelsea are sitting in third spot on the Premier League table with two fixtures to go. The Blues have claimed wins in eight of their last 10 games in all competitions.

However, Chelsea have emerged victorious from just 2 of their last 8 away league fixtures, including a 3-2 loss at West Ham United and a 3-0 defeat at Sheffield, with a 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace sandwiched between those disappointing results.

An unconvincing 1-0 home victory over Norwich City followed before giving Manchester United a lesson at Wembley in the FA Cup semi final - winning 3-1.

The biggest issue for Chelsea is a doubt over N’Golo Kante in midfield. He has a hamstring problem and is doubtful for this game. A possible stand-in for him in midfield was Billy Gilmour and he has been ruled out long-term.

Liverpool vs Chelsea Head to Head

Liverpool have a 74-60 advantage in the 175 games these sides have played, with 41 draws.

In their previous meeting, Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 in the FA Cup, with Willian and Ross Barkley scoring.

Liverpool vs Chelsea Odds

Liverpool are available at 2.00 to claim the victory, while Chelsea are priced at 3.30 to do the same. The draw pays 3.80.

Over 2.5 goals is valued at 1.57, while the Under 2.5 goals market is available at 2.38. BTTS Yes is priced at 1.53 and BTTS No is at 2.38.

Liverpool vs Chelsea Match Up

Liverpool won't want to end their home campaign with anything less than a victory. Chelsea are gunning for a top four spot. This has the makings of a classic at Anfield.
