Liverpool’s match against Man United was postponed on Sunday due to fan protests. 

The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw against Newcastle two weeks ago, their third consecutive draw in all competitions. 

Liverpool led through Mo Salah’s early goal. The Reds dominated with 22 shots and 68% possession but Newcastle equalised in the 95th minute. 

The draw extended Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the Premier League to five matches. Liverpool beat Wolves, Arsenal and Aston Villa before consecutive draws against Leeds and Newcastle. 

The dropped points leave Jurgen Klopp’s side seventh in the Premier League and four points off the Europa League places.

Defenders Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are ruled out through injury.

Striker Divock Origi, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and midfielder Jordan Henderson are also unavailable. 

Southampton Form


Southampton drew 1-1 at home with Leicester on Friday, ending their three-match losing streak in all competitions.

Jannik Vestergaard was sent off on 10 minutes and Southampton struggled with five shots and 29% possession. James Ward-Prowse’s second-half penalty gave the Saints the lead but they conceded a late equaliser. 

Southampton’s poor run of form has seen their season tail off in recent weeks. Disappointing Premier League away losses to West Brom and Tottenham came either side of a 1-0 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Leicester. 

The Saints are 15th in the Premier League and 10 points off the relegation places.

Striker Michael Obafemi remains doubtful due to a lack of match fitness.

Forward Takumi Minamino is unable to face his parent club and defender Jannik Vestergaard is suspended. 

Forward Danny Ings, full-back Ryan Bertrand and midfielders Oriol Romeu and William Smallbone are unavailable due to injury.
