Two victories over Brighton & Hove Albion in a week have kickstarted Manchester United's campaign. Last weekend, United snuck a controversial 3-2 Premier League win as Bruno Fernandes scored a 100th-minute penalty - which was awarded after the final whistle had been blown by the referee.

It was a much more comprehensive 3-0 victory for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side in midweek as they progressed to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. The Red Devils beat Luton Town by the same score in the previous round of the competition.

Those three victories were just what United required to get their campaign going after a poor showing in their Premier League opener at home against Crystal Palace - which they lost 3-1.

Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes have slight doubts hanging over them, although both are expected to be fit. Phil Jones, Sergio Romero and Axel Tuanzebe are still out.

Tottenham Hotspur will be competing in their eighth match in 21 days on Sunday. The Spurs squad has been rotated during that time, but the players have been asked to do a lot more work than usual. The visit to Old Trafford will be the North London club's fourth match in the last eight days.

Spurs are still smarting after being on the wrong end of a VAR-awarded penalty last weekend as Newcastle United claimed a 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Two midweek cup matches were negotiated as Spurs advanced in the Carabao Cup on penalties after a 1-1 draw with rivals Chelsea. They also destroyed Maccabi Haifa 7-2 to reach the UEFA Europa League proper. Striker Harry Kane scored a hat-trick against the side from Israel.

Mourinho will be forced into more changes due to the demands on his squad. Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Eric Lamela were all rested or on the bench against Maccabi Haifa, but should come back.

Gareth Bale is still unavailable to make his debut, while Son Heung-Min is out. Giovani Lo Celso will need a late fitness test.
