The bookies are tipping the three promoted sides to go straight back down despite their positive attacking football. Crystal Palace are backed to be the established team most likely to struggle after Roy Hodgson’s retirement and Patrick Vieira’s appointment as successor.
- Latest Premier League Relegation Odds
Norwich won the EFL Championship last season with 97 points and 75 goals scored in 46 matches. The Canaries have lost key creative player Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa and Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour has arrived on loan. You can get 1.90 odds on Norwich with Betway to go straight back down.
Watford’s odds for relegation are 2.00. Coach Xisco Muñoz has not been able to significantly strengthen his squad with defender Danny Rose and forward Josh King the main additions.
The bookies have slightly higher hopes for Thomas Frank’s Brentford side with 2.10 odds on offer. A lot will depend on striker Ivan Toney who scored 33 goals last season.
Crystal Palace can be backed at 2.75 odds under new coach Patrick Vieira. Roy Hodgson has retired as head coach and The Eagles have several ageing players. The club has made some great signings in Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi at the back though.
Burnley at 3.50, Newcastle at 3.75 and Southampton at 4.33 are next. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side lost 15 of their final 21 fixtures last season and Saints could represent a value bet.
Other relegation candidates are Wolves at 6.00 after seeing coach Nuno Espirito Santo depart and Brighton at 7.00 after losing top defender Ben White to Arsenal.
An outside tip could be Leeds at 11.00 due to the famous “second season syndrome” which hit Sheffield United so hard last season.
