Bangladesh vs Australia 2nd T20I Predictions - Resurgent Aussies poised to take T20I series

Editor
Last updated: 1 hour ago

Australia is the clear favorite to win, with betting odds at 1.41. Top players expected to shine include Towhid Hridoy, predicted to score over 18.5 runs at 1.83 odds, and both Abdul Gaffar Saqlain and Adam Zampa, each tipped to take more than 1.5 wickets in the match. The key recommendation is to watch these highlighted players for standout performances with both bat and ball — especially Zampa and Hridoy, based on their consistent recent form.

Bangladesh vs Australia Predictions

After trailing 2-0 in the ODI series against Bangladesh, Australia bounced back by winning the final ODI and then winning the first match in the T20I series. The momentum is now firmly in Australia’s hands.

  • Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy has scored 101*, 31, 40* & 83 in his last 5 knocks.
  • Bangladesh’s Saif Hassan has scored 20, 22, 95 & 20 in his last 5 matches.
  • Bangladesh’s Abdul Gaffar Saqlain has taken 5/37, 1/38, 3/67 & 2/32 in 4 innings.
  • Australia’s Cooper Connolly has scored 35, 149 & 47 in his last 4 matches.
  • Australia’s Mitchell Marsh has scored 111, 90 & 96 in his last 5 innings.
  • Australia’s Adam Zampa took 3/18 in the 1st T20I against Bangladesh.

Head-to-Head

Australia have won four and lost one of their last five T20Is against Bangladesh, including the last three on the bounce and their batters and bowlers are performing well as a unit.

Bangladesh Form

Bangladesh lost their second whiteball match against Australia in a row (and their second T20I on the bounce) as they went 1-0 down in the three-match series.

Towhid Hridoy had scored between 30 and 102 in his previous four knocks but fell for just eight in the 1st T20I as Bangladesh were rolled for 131 off 19 overs. Mahedi Hasan top-scored with 29* off 22 balls after the Tigers’ top seven all failed, with Saif Hassan’s 20 off 14 balls being the highest score.

Bangladesh did well to stretch Australia to the 19th over before they secured the win, with Abdul Gaffar Saqlain returning the best figures for Bangladesh (2/32) on the back of some impressive recent returns in his last four matches.

Australia Form

Australia bounced back from their 2-1 ODI series defeat by scoring a resounding win in the 1st T20I.

Spin twins Adam Zampa (3/18, econ 4.50) and Joel Davies (3/17, econ 5.66) ran through the Bangladesh middle-order and tail to dismiss them for 131. Matt Renshaw (2/26) got rid of opener Saif Hassan to start the Tigers’ collapse.

Cooper Connolly was the star of the Australian chase, following up his match-winning 149 in the 3rd ODI with a 27-ball score of 47, including three sixes. Tim David (20 off 16) was the next top scorer as Australia edged their way to a four-wicket win.

Team news

Bangladesh’s top-order is looking shaky and after losing two whiteball matches on the bounce the momentum is on Australia’s side as they look to secure a series win after a forgettable first half of 2026 in whiteball cricket.

Bangladesh (possible XI): Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Soumya Sarkar, Parvez Hossain Emon, Towhid Hridoy (c), Shamim Hossain Patwary, Mahedi Hasan, Abdul Gaffar Saqlain, Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman.

Australia (possible XI): Mitchell Marsh (c), Josh Inglis, Cooper Connolly, Matt Renshaw, Tim David, Nikhil Chaudhary, Joel Davies, Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, Spencer Johnson.

Verdict

Australia are tipped to win at odds of 1.41, with Towhid Hridoy, Abdul Gaffar Saqlain, Cooper Connolly and Adam Zampa backed to star with bat and ball.
