Ghana and Panama will face each other for the first time at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Both teams arrive with mixed recent form; Ghana is winless in six matches, while Panama has struggled in five of their last seven. Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo could be decisive, having scored three times in four games. Notably, Ghana will be without Thomas Partey due to visa issues. With both sides showing vulnerabilities, a draw is the most likely result. Semenyo is a strong bet to score or even open the scoring.

Head to Head

These two will meet for the first time at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana Form

Ghana had a strong 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign and won eight of their 10 matches.

The Black Stars hit a poor run of form after World Cup qualification and lost four friendly games in a row. Former boss Otto Addo was sacked following a 2-1 defeat to Germany and Carlos Queiroz took over as the new manager.

Queiroz oversaw a 2-0 defeat against Mexico in his first game in charger and Ghana had just 0.17 XG.

Ghana showed improvements in their following game and held Wales to a 1-1 draw. Caleb Yirenkyi opened the scoring in the second period and Wales scored a 93rd-minute equaliser.

Panama Form

Panama qualified for their second World Cup finals after topping Group D in CONCACAF qualifying.

The Central American side have struggled for form since securing World Cup qualification. They have failed to win in five of their last seven matches, drawing three and losing two.

The Canal Men lost 6-2 against Brazil before hitting back with a 4-2 triumph against the Dominican Republic.

Thomas Christiansen’s side couldn’t build momentum and were held to a 1-1 draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Panama faced five shots on target, conceded first and Jiovany Ramos levelled before half time.
