Romania vs Ukraine Predictions
Romania have struggled for form ahead of this tournament and are winless in 2024. Ukraine on the other hand have been scoring plenty of goals, so a Romania win is on the cards.

Head to Head
In the six matches against each other, both teams have won three. They last met in 2016, a match Ukraine won 4-3.
Romania Form
Romania are coming off two disappointing performances in friendly matches against Liechtenstein and Bulgaria last week, both ending without goals in Bucharest.
They qualified for Euro 2024 by topping Group I with 22 points (six wins, four draws), ahead of Switzerland, Israel, Belarus, Kosovo and Andorra.
The Tricolours kicked off this year by playing two international friendlies, starting with a 1-1 draw at home against Northern Ireland, Jamie Reid breaking the deadlock early while Dennis Man scored an equalizer also in the first half.
Romania then faced Colombia on a neutral pitch in Madrid and lost 3-2 to the South American side. They conceded three unanswered goals before Ianis Hagi and Florin Tanase scored late consolation goals.

Ukraine Form
Ukraine are one of rare Euro 2024 participants who played three warm-up matches in June. They started the tourney with a goalless draw against Germany, followed by a 3-1 defeat to Poland in Warsaw.
The Blue and Yellow returned to winning ways last week with a commanding 4-0 victory against Moldova in Chisinau, Roman Yaremchuk and Viktor Tsygankov on target in the first half, Artem Dovbyk and Heorhii Sudakov finishing the job later.
Ukraine had to find their Euro 2024 ticket through the UEFA Nations League playoffs after ending 3rd in the qualifying Group C behind England and Italy.
Sergey Rebrov’s side was in a difficult position in the playoff semifinals against Bosnia & Herzegovina after Mykola Matviienko scored an own goal in the second half. Roman Yaremchuk found the equalizer in 85th minute, while Artem Dovbyk scored the winner just a couple of minutes later.
Ukraine then proceeded to beat Iceland 2-1 in the playoff finals to secure a spot in Euro 2024. They were down by one goal in that clash as well, Viktor Tsygankov’s and Mikhaylo Mudryk’s goals then turning things around in the second half.
Ukraine Squad
Goalkeepers: Heorhiy Bushchan, Andriy Lunin, Anatoliy Trubin
Defenders: Mykola Matviyenko, Vitaliy Mykolenko, Illya Zabarnyi, Oleksandr Tymchyk, Yukhym Konoplya, Bohdan Mykhaylichenko, Oleksandr Svatok, Valeriy Bondar, Maksym Talovyerov
Midfielders: Andriy Yarmolenko (captain), Taras Stepanenko, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Serhiy Sydorchuk, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Viktor Tsyhankov, Oleksandr Zubkov, Mykola Shaparenko, Mykhailo Mudryk, Heorhiy Sudakov, Volodymyr Brazhko
Forwards: Roman Yaremchuk, Artem Dovbyk, Vladyslav Vanat
Verdict
Romania failed to score in their recent contests against Bulgaria and Liechtenstein. Ukraine have plenty of top-tier players and I will back them to beat the struggling opposition.
