Netherlands vs Sweden Predictions

The Netherlands dropped points in their Group F opener but had success against Sweden recently. Sweden started their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign in fine style, but are prone to inconsistent performances on the road. The Netherlands are predicted to win with BTTS.

  • Netherlands have won 2 of their last 5 fixtures.
  • Netherlands have scored 7 goals in 5 matches.
  • Netherlands have won 3 of their last 5 matches against Sweden.
  • Sweden have won 3 of their last 5 fixtures.
  • Sweden have scored 14 goals in 5 games.
  • Sweden have conceded 9 goals in 5 matches.

Head to Head

The Netherlands have a slight edge over Sweden, with eight victories to seven, including four draws in 19 meetings.

Netherlands Form

The Netherlands were on course to win their opening FIFA World Cup Group F match last weekend but had to settle for a share of the spoils, drawing 2-2 with Japan after conceding a late goal in the second half.

The Dutch had 60% possession and 11 shots in the game, with seven attempts on target.

Before that, the Flying Dutchmen had mixed results in two tune-up matches at the start of June ahead of the World Cup, winning 4-1 and drawing 1-1, respectively.

In March, Holland faced Norway and Ecuador in two international friendly fixtures, winning 2-1 and drawing 1-1, respectively.

Oranje have won two of their last five matches, with one defeat and two draws. They scored seven goals and conceded six.

The Netherlands will be disappointed not to have collected three points against Japan but will look to turn their fortunes around when they take on Sweden, having won three of their last five matches against their opponents, with one draw and one defeat.

Sweden Form

Sweden had the perfect start to their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign last weekend, thrashing Tunisia 5-1 after scoring three goals in the second half.

The Blue and Yellow had 49% possession and 13 shots in the match, with eight attempts on target.

Blågult had two warm-up matches at the beginning of June in preparation for the World Cup, losing 3-1 to Norway before drawing 2-2 with Greece.

In March, Sweden had to play two FIFA World Cup play-off matches to reach the global showpiece. They beat Ukraine 3-1 and defeated Poland 3-2 in the play-offs.

The Blue and Yellow have won three of their last five fixtures, with one defeat and two draws. They scored 14 goals and conceded nine.

Sweden will be pleased with their recent performance and will hope to carry that form into the clash with the Netherlands. However, the task at hand will not be easy, as their opponents have won eight of their last 13 matches, with four draws and just one defeat.
