Bulgaria and Tanzania are set to face off in the upcoming FIFA Series clash, taking place at Dalga Arena, Azerbaijan. Both teams have not had the best run in their recent fixtures, but Bulgaria, who recently earned two solid draws, is predicted to win. Notably, the match will be the first competitive meet between the teams. Tanzanian Captain Mbwana Samatta, unfortunately, will not be joining the team in Azerbaijan.

Head to Head

Tanzania and Bulgaria meet for the first in a competitive match.

Dalga Arena in Azerbaijan is the venue for this match.

Tanzania Form

Tanzania did not achieve their Africa Cup of Nations objectives in the Ivory Coast, failing to make it out of the group stages after losing 3-0 against Morocco and drawing 1-1 against Zambia and the DRC.

Before that, Tanzania had lost to Morocco 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier and 2-0 against Egypt in a friendly.

The Tafia Stars have lost three of their last five fixtures, including two draws. They netted just one goal and conceded seven.

Tanzania have not been at their best lately, winning three of their last eleven internationals and scoring only five goals during those games. Can they be more clinical upfront against Bulgaria?

Captain Mbwana Samatta has not made the trip to Azerbaijan after requesting to be excluded from the national team.

Interim coach Hemed Morocco named a 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA Series in Azerbaijan.

Bulgaria Form

Bulgaria finished last in Group G of the 2024 Euro qualifiers without winning a match.

Bulgaria's recent run of results includes losing 2-1 against Montenegro away from home and 2-0 against Lithuania at home before losing by the same margin against Albania away in a friendly.

They earned a 2-2 draw against Hungary at home and a 2-2 draw against Serbia away from home in their final two qualifying fixtures.

Bulgaria have registered three defeats in their last five matches, including two draws. They scored five goals and conceded ten.

Bulgaria have been on an 11-match run without a victory but did show improvement in their final two qualifiers, drawing against Hungary and Serbia, who have both made it to the 2024 Euro Championships later this year; however, they have regularly been leaking goals at the back.

Bulgaria Team News & Injuries

Head coach Ilian Iliev announced a 26-player squad for their upcoming friendly matches against Tanzania and Azerbaijan.

Goalkeepers: Ivan Dyulgerov, Svetoslav Vutsov, Dimitar Mitov
