Genoa vs Venezia Predictions

Genoa are improving while Venezia are in free fall. A home win to zero by a one-goal margin is tipped. I see this ending 1-0 to Genoa on Monday.

Genoa have won their last 2 home matches to nil.
Genoa have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 home matches.
Venezia have lost 8 of their last 14 matches.
Venezia’s last 4 defeats have been by 1-goal margins.

Head to Head

Genoa hold an 8-3 advantage over Venezia across 17 clashes with six draws.

Venezia won 2-0 in the reverse fixture when the clubs last met in September.

Genoa Form & Team News

Genoa sit 12th in Serie A. Their 22 goals scored in 24 matches is the third-fewest in the division.

A 1-0 home win over Parma made it just one loss in 12 league matches. A 3-1 loss followed at Roma before beating Monza 2-1 at home.

After losing 2-1 at Fiorentina, they drew 1-1 at Torino in their last match. Genoa put up a paltry 0.37 xG with just two shots on target.

Captain Milan Badelj went off injured against Torino and is doubtful for this match. On-loan winger Max Cornet was injured against Fiorentina and needs a late fitness test.

Coach Patrick Vieira is without teenage winger Honest Ahanor. Ruslan Malinovsky has been absent since September with a broken ankle.

Genoa Predicted Lineup

Leali; Sabelli, Vasquez, Matturro, Caricol; Frendrup, Masini; Messias, Thorsby; Miretti; Pinamonti.

Venezia Form & Team News

Venezia sit 19th in the Serie A table, five points off safety. Their last 14 matches have seen just one victory as they head for relegation in their current form.

A 1-0 home loss to Inter Milan preceded successive draws, 1-1 at Parma and 1-1 at home to Verona. A late goal leaked saw the Neroverdi lost 3-2 at Udinese.

Their last fixture saw a 1-0 home loss to Roma. From 63% possession, they only put up 0.71 xG and created just one big chance.

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco has four injuries to contend with. First-choice goalkeeper Filip Stankovic is out until March with a hamstring injury.

Left back Marin Sverko and right wingback Richie Sagrado are ruled out. Central midfielder Alfred Duncan has not played since November and is not yet ready to return.

Venezia Predicted Lineup

Radu; Marcandalli, Idzes, Cande; Ellertsson, Perez, Caviglia, Busio, Zerbin; Yeboah, Fila.

Verdict

Genoa v Venezia

I see Genoa winning this match. I'm backing a victory by one goal with a 1-0 score line.
