Kenilworth Racing Predictions - 1 November 2026

Editor
Last updated: 1 hour ago

Kenilworth’s Sunday meeting features four main selections: Villeneuve in Race 3, Gold Index in Race 4, Rich Man’s World in Race 6, and The US Of A in Race 7. Rich Man’s World is considered the strongest pick, thanks to an inside barrier and impressive early career form in the Grade 3 Cape Classic. Villeneuve is tipped for improvement over a longer distance, Gold Index brings recent winning momentum, and The US Of A is favoured for his course experience and current form. Each faces credible rivals, so outcomes are not certain.

Best Bet of the Day - Kenilworth, Sunday

Race 3 - Villeneuve (5)

Jockey: Craig Zackey | Trainer: Dean Kannemeyer
1950m | Open Maiden | 14:20 SAST
Villeneuve meets a field of nine after an encouraging run over 1600m at Durbanville on 7 October. He was beaten less than three lengths by Daley Park and should appreciate the move to 1950m, where a more sustained finish may matter more than an immediate burst of acceleration. Draw five gives Zackey the chance to settle into a midfield position.

Captain’s Angel finished ahead of him in that same race and is the principal threat from the inside draw. Groove Master also caught the eye late and is not without each-way claims. Villeneuve is selected on the potential for improvement over an extended trip, rather than on an established winning record.

Race 4 - Gold Index (3)

Jockey: S. Bungane | Trainer: Robert Barrett
1950m | Foundation Stakes | 14:55 SAST
Gold Index comes off a well-deserved victory over 2000m at Durbanville on 4 October and returns over almost the same distance in this eight-runner contest. The seven-year-old has improved markedly of late and is drawn well in gate three, making another front-rank effort possible if he is allowed to establish a comfortable rhythm.

Run For Cover chased him home last time and should again prove dangerous, although his wider draw makes the opening stages more complicated. Superhero is a dependable rival, while the weights still demand respect. Gold Index has the winning momentum and looks capable of confirming the latest form.

Race 6 - Rich Man’s World (2)

Jockey: Kabelo Matsunyane | Trainer: Vaughan Marshall
1400m | Grade 3 Cape Classic | 16:05 SAST
Rich Man’s World is the main attraction on Sunday’s card after an impressive early career. He overcame his own mistakes to win over 1250m last time and now faces a serious examination at 1400m. A neat inside barrier is a substantial asset in a race where several of his rivals possess genuine black-type potential.

Aquae Calidae returns after victory in the Grade 3 Langerman and Red Spice is a danger following a good effort in top juvenile company at Greyville. The pace could be critical: Rich Man’s World must settle rather than spend his energy fighting the rider. With that proviso he remains the strongest selection of the day.

Race 7 - The US Of A (6)

Jockey: Richard Fourie | Trainer: Piet Kruyer
1100m | Listed Southeaster Sprint | 16:40 SAST
The US Of A won this race in 2025 and returns with a strong chance of defending his title. His latest outing was a narrow second over 1000m at Durbanville on 14 October, evidence that he retains his speed and competitive edge ahead of the return to the Kenilworth straight.

The opposition is serious with All The Rage liable to improve after his first outing as a gelding and O’TENIKWA capable of a sharp performance in sprint company. Gold Giboski and Demanding Dave also bring credible claims. The US Of A gets the nod for his course knowledge, current form and the booking of Fourie.

Verdict

I'm backing wins for Villeneuve, Gold Index, Rich Man’s World and The US Of A at Kenilworth on Sunday.
