Northampton Saints are tipped to cover the -10.5 handicap in their Premiership Rugby fixture against Gloucester. The Saints have a formidable home record, winning 12 consecutive league matches at Franklin's Gardens, and have beaten Gloucester in four of their last five meetings. Gloucester, despite leading the Premiership table, have struggled away from home with four losses in their last five away games and a poor record at Northampton. Fin Smith is a doubtful starter for the Saints due to injury, but the home side's dominance supports the handicap tip.

Northampton Saints Form

Northampton Saints scored a converted try in the first half against rivals Leicester Tigers last weekend to lead their hosts 7-3 at half-time.

However, the Saints failed to score any more points during the remainder of the match, losing 28-7 away to Leicester Tigers in the East Midlands Derby.

In the PREM this season, Northampton defeated the Newcastle Red Bulls 59-26 at home and lost 41-26 away to Bristol before thumping Bath 71-48 at home.

The Saints are fourth in the Premiership Rugby table with 11 points after four rounds.

Northampton Saints have the advantage in their clash with league leaders Gloucester, as they have recorded 12 consecutive league victories at home and achieved the league double over their opponents last season.

Gloucester Form

Gloucester landed three penalties in the first half against Bath to lead 9-5 at the break in the West Country Derby last weekend.

The Cherry and Whites scored two converted tries in the second half to beat rivals Bath 23-5 at home.

At the start of their PREM campaign, Gloucester defeated Exeter 45-24 away and Harlequins 48-0 at home before losing 38-31 away to Leicester Tigers.

The Cherry and Whites are first in the Premiership Rugby standings with 16 points from four matches.

Gloucester have been performing well this season; however, their overall away form is lacking, with four losses in their last five away games, and they have suffered four defeats in their last five visits to Northampton.

Team News

Northampton Saints

Hooker Curtis Langdon has stated that Northampton will be throwing everything into their match against Gloucester this weekend: “This week, we’re just focusing on ourselves – our process, our system – throwing ourselves into that, and we’re confident that if we do that, we’ll perform well back at home against Gloucester.

“We saw the response following the loss to Bristol, the response we had as a group going into that Bath week. The challenge is about how we can create that emotion every week to drive our performance. It’s something we’ve got to work and build on as a squad.”

England fly-half Fin Smith picked up a calf injury against Leicester and is a doubtful starter.

Loosehead prop Jordan Els has signed a contract extension with Northampton until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Gloucester

Centre Seb Atkinson has extended his contract with Gloucester to remain at the club until 2029.
