Marumo Gallants vs Siwelele Predictions - Siwelele to Leave Rustenburg With a Point

Marumo Gallants face Siwelele in a match where a 1-1 draw is tipped, reflecting both teams’ poor form. Gallants are winless in 19 matches, drawing 9 of their last 16, while Siwelele have just one win in their last ten and are winless in 14 away games. Team news includes possible absences for Gallants’ Mariko and Msendami due to work permit issues, and Siwelele missing Baliti (suspension) and Margeman (injury). Recent head-to-heads have been tight, supporting the prediction of a closely contested draw.

Marumo Gallants vs Siwelele Predictions

Both of these sides are really struggling. I see Siwelele having enough to avoid defeat on Friday night. I’m backing a 1-1 draw.

Key Stats – Draw Predicted

  • Marumo Gallants are winless in 19 matches (9 draws).
  • Marumo Gallants have drawn 9 of their last 16 matches.
  • Siwelele are winless in 14 away matches (7 draws).
  • Siwelele are unbeaten in 2 matches vs Marumo Gallants.

Head to Head – One Siwelele Win

These clubs have met on just two previous occasions.

Siwelele won 1-0 in the first clash, before a 0-0 draw in the return fixture last April.

Poor Gallants Form - 17 Losses in Their Last 27 Matches

Marumo Gallants have lost 17 of their last 27 fixtures.  They’re currently 19 matches without a victory.

Marumo have lost seven of their last eight matches. Gallants were beaten 1-0 at AmaZulu with just one shot on target and 2-0 at home to Orlando Pirates with no shots on target.

A third-straight loss followed as they were beaten 2-1 at Sekhukhune United. In midweek, they lost 1-0 away at a second-string Mamelodi Sundowns team in the Carling Knockout Cup.

One Win in Ten Matches – Siwelele Languishing 14th in PSL table

Siwelele’s last ten matches have yielded just one victory. They progressed in the Carling Knockout Cup in their most recent match.

They lost 2-0 at AmaZulu and drew 1-1 vs Chippa United despite having 34 shots combined in those fixtures. A 3-2 defeat at Kaizer Chiefs was followed by a 3-0 loss at Mamelodi Sundowns.

A 1-1 home draw vs Golden Arrows preceded a rare victory, 1-0 at home vs Polokwane City. They faced the same opponents last time out as they won on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the Carling Knockout.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Marumo Gallants (4-5-1): Lako; Lukhele, Rikhotso, Sikakane, Ntiya-Ntiya; Otladisa, Ndlondlo, Seketso, Pheeha, Kunene; Etemesi.

Coach Ronnie Kanalelo is set to recall Emile Lako in goal after rotation in the cup. Abdoulaye Mariko is still waiting for his work permit in midfield.

Speedy winger Daniel Msendami is another who may not receive his work permit in time to feature. Edgar Manaka is tipped for a recall in midfield.

Siwelele (4-4-2): February; Mfolozi, Sesane, Ndebele, Khonyane; Jeza, Kobedi, Mokhuoane, Potsane; Saile, Mazibuko.

Siwelele are without left back Aphiwe Baliti after his red card in the last match. Key midfielder Grant Margeman is out injured.

Vincent Pule remains an injury doubt. Ivorian striker Michel N’Guessan is once again set to be used as an impact player.

Verdict

I'm backing a draw in this one. Siwelele have enough to avoid defeat.
