Lecce vs Sassuolo Predictions

The early season bubble may have burst for Lecce. Sassuolo are hard to predict but they tend to win this fixture. I’m backing them to bounce back from their shock home defeat last time out.

Sassuolo have won their last 3 matches vs Lecce.
Sassuolo have won 2 of their last 3 matches.

Head to Head

Sassuolo are unbeaten across six previous meetings with Lecce. They won have three and drawn three of those clashes.

When the sides last met in February, Sassuolo won 1-0 away from home.

Lecce Form & Team News

Lecce made a great start to this season with three wins and two draws in Serie A. Their last two matches have ended in defeats though.

After a 1-1 draw at Monza where they were outshot 25-4, Lecce beat Genoa 1-0 at home thanks to an 83rd minute winner. A 1-0 loss at Juventus followed with just two shots attempted all match for the Giallorossi.

Their last match brought a 4-0 humbling at home by Napoli. Lecce allowed 2.50 xG and four ‘big chances’ in the defeat.

Coach Roberto D'Aversa is without left winger Lameck Banda. He was injured in the draw against Monza.

Centre back is injured but he wouldn’t have started anyway.

Lecce Predicted Lineup

Falcone; Gendrey, Baschirotto, Pongracic, Gallo; Rafia, Ramadani, Blin; Almqvist, Krstovic, Strefezza.

Sassuolo Form & Team News

The Nerovedri have been wildly inconsistent this season. They’ve won three and lost four in seven Serie A matches.

Sassuolo lost 4-2 at newly promoted Frosinone having led 2-0. They followed that up by beating Juventus 4-2 thanks to a strong second half.

A 2-1 win at Inter Milan followed as they ended their opponents’ perfect start in Serie A. In typical fashion, they followed that victory by losing 1-0 at home to Monza last time out.

Coach Alessio Dionisi has a clean bill of health. There are no injuries or suspensions to deal with.

The only change to the XI from the Monza defeat could see Nedim Bajrami replace Kristian Thorstvedt in midfield.

Sassuolo Predicted Lineup

Consigli; Toljan, Erlic, Tressoldi, Vina; Henrique, Boloca; Berardi, Bajrami, Lauriente; Pinamonti.

Verdict

Lecce v Sassuolo

I'm backing the visitors to take all three points in this match. I am also backing them for a clean sheet.
