Golden Arrows had two major absentees for their last match with captain Trevor Mathiane injured at centre back and Gladwin Shitolo missing in midfield. Both players are doubtful for this derby.

At right-back, Siyabonga Dube has missed the last couple of matches so Mthokozisi Dube should cover. Nkosingiphile Gumede is expected to start in goal with Sifiso Mlungwana given a rest.

AmaZulu Form

AmaZulu sit 7th in the PSL table with the 4th best attack in the league. The side are five games unbeaten as two draws were followed by three wins under recently appointed coach Benni McCarthy.

Usuthu dominated in a 0-0 home draw against Maritzburg United and then drew 1-1 at SuperSport United. Three wins in a row followed as AmaZulu won 2-0 at Baroka and then beat Stellenbosch 2-1 at home.

In their last match, AmaZulu defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 4-3 thanks to an injury time winner from captain Tapelo Xoki. He had earlier netted a penalty with Augustine Mulenga and Siyethemba Sithebe the other players on target.

McCarthy made several changes to his starting XI for the last match amid a busy fixture schedule. Talent Chawapiwa was back amongst the substitutes after injury to boost options on the flank.

Bongi Ntuli and Sibusiso Mabiliso were both left on the bench against Celtic and should return to the starting XI for this match. Second choice goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha could be handed the jersey due to this being a cup competition.
