New coach Gavin Hunt oversaw a 1-0 win at Sekhukhune United in his first match in charge. After successive CAF Confederations Cup defeats, his side beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at home in the Nedbank Cup.

After losing 3-0 at Otoho d’Oyo and drawing 0-0 at home to Singida Black Stars, Stellenbosch returned to league action. In midweek, they could only draw 1-1 at home to Magesi.

Central midfielder Isaac Cisse is suspended for this match. Midfielder Lungelo Dube is available again after injury. 

Defenders Themba Mantshiyane, Gladwin Shitolo and Sbonelo Cele are all expected to miss out due to injuries.
