Kaizer Chiefs' opening fixtures for the 2026-27 season have been revealed, with new coach Fernando Da Cruz at the helm. The club kicks off away at Kruger United, aiming for a win, followed by a challenging stretch including Sekhukhune United and Mamelodi Sundowns at home, and Richards Bay and Siwelele next. Predictions suggest Amakhosi will secure seven points from the first five matches, with wins against Kruger United and Siwelele, draws against Sekhukhune and Richards Bay, and a loss to Sundowns. The early stages will test Da Cruz's impact on the squad.

Kaizer Chiefs' first five league matches of the 2026-27 season have been announced.

We predict how many points Amakhosi will accrue under new coach Fernando Da Cruz.

Kruger United (Away)

1 August 2026

Amakhosi start the season with a trip to newly-promoted Kruger United.

Chiefs have never met these opponents before, and are tipped to take the full three points.

Sekhukhune United (Home)

12 August 2026

This is a tough first home match at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs lost 3-1 to Babina Noko last season, before winning the return match 2-0.

They will face their former co-coach Cedric Kaze, who took Chiefs to a third-placed finish last term. This match is tipped to end in a draw.

Mamelodi Sundowns (Home)

15 August 2026

Amakhosi's third match is against Mamelodi Sundowns. They tend to struggle in this fixture.

Despite being at home, Chiefs are predicted to lose this match. Sundowns have too much firepower for this Amakhosi defence to handle.

Richards Bay (Away)

 27 August 2026

This fixture saw a defeat last season. Chiefs may have trouble winning this fixture again.

I see this one ending in a draw.

Siwelele (Home)

5 September 2026

Amakhosi face a Siwelele side who have lost most of their best players from last season.

This should be a comfortable win, even though Amakhosi were beaten 2-0 in one of last season's clashes.

Overall, Fernando Da Cruz is predicted to take eight points from Chiefs' first five league matches.
