Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the signing of Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana on a free transfer after his departure from Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

Return to the PSL

The 27-year-old returns to South Africa after two seasons abroad, having also spent time on loan at Saudi Arabian side Al-Hazem.

Mokwana featured in the FIFA Club World Cup for Espérance and scored twice against Chiefs in the 2023-24 season for Sekhukhune United.

11 Bafana Caps for Mokwana

Elias Mokwana has earned 11 caps for Bafana Bafana since making his senior international debut against Andorra in March 2024. He was also part of Hugo Broos' squad at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he made two appearances.

The right winger will be hoping to recapture his best form at Chiefs, in order to catch the eye of new national team coach Pitso Mosimane.

Da Cruz Gets Attacking Boost

The winger becomes another attacking addition for Fernando Da Cruz as Chiefs continue to strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 campaign.

Mokwana brings pace, versatility and international experience to Naturena as Amakhosi look to improve their attacking options. He is a right-footed winger who played a handful of matches up front in Saudi Arabia.

He will compete for a spot with Mfundo Vilakazi, Pule Mmodi and Langelihle Phili in the wide areas.
