Coach Fernando Da Cruz is expected to field a reshuffled starting XI due to multiple injuries. Notably, Renaldo Leaner keeps his place in goal, while Flavio Da Silva returns as the number nine. Kaizer Chiefs face Stellenbosch in the Betway Premiership on 13 October 2026 at FNB Stadium. Kickoff is at 7.30 PM SAST.

Below you can find the predicted starting XI from coach Fernando Da Cruz as his side looks to end a two-match losing streak in clashes vs Stellenbosch.

GOALKEEPER

Captain Brandon Petersen is ruled out due to injury. He has made four howlers this season, so this may prove to be a benefit in disguise.

Renaldo Leaner will start a second match after keeping a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw vs Golden Arrows before the international break.

DEFENCE

Chiefs may again use a back three with wingbacks. Thabiso Monyane is fit to return on the right side, whilst Pule Mmodi is set to play as the left wingback. Paseka Mako and Nkanyiso Shinga are back from injury to boost options down the left.

Inacio Miguel and Thabo Moloisane look certain starters in defence. Bradley Cross could complete the back three, as Rushwin Dortley is eased back into action after 18 months out injured.

MIDFIELD

Both Siphesihle Ndlovu and Lebohang Maboe have been ruled out. This is a big blow to Chiefs in an area that lacks quality depth.

Adolt Mtasingwa is set to partner Sibongiseni Mthethwa in the engine room. Thulani Mabaso could make the bench after the youngster returned from an injury.

ATTACK

Luke Baartman is doubtful with a groin complaint picked up on international duty. Winger Langelihle Phili is injured and will not face his former club.

Flavio Da Silva is back from injury and is likely to start as the number nine. Mfundo Vilakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala are the likely selections in the number ten roles.

Khanyisa Mayo is available again after undergoing surgery in the off-season.

Predicted Starting XI (3-4-3):

Renaldo Leaner - Thabo Moloisane, Inacio Miguel, Bradley Cross - Thabiso Monyane, Adolf Mtasingwa, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Pule Mmodi - Mfundo Vilakazi, Flavio Da Silva, Mduduzi Shabalala.
