Brandon Petersen will start in goal and captain the team. In defense, the return of Thabiso Monyane and uncertainty around Inacio Miguel's fitness are key considerations. The midfield sees a potential partnership between Lebohang Maboe and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, with Ethan Chislett starring as a possible number ten. Predicted Chiefs starting XI vs face Orlando Pirates.

Kaizer Chiefs face Orlando Pirates in the world-famous Soweto Derby on Saturday. We take a look at how Amakhosi could line up.

The last six meetings between the clubs have seen five wins for Pirates. Can Chiefs' co-coaches, Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef mastermind a famous win?

GOALKEEPER

There is no doubt that Brandon Petersen will start in goal. He has played all but one game this season, missing just the Carling Knockout Cup exit to Stellenbosch.

Petersen will also captain the team.

DEFENCE

Thabiso Monyane is favoured to return at right back. Dillan Solomons struggled in midweek, whilst Reeve Frosler is injured.

Zitha Kwinika is a certain starters in central defence. Inacio Miguel is an injury doubt and Given Msimango is absent, so Aden McCarthy may deputise.

If Miguel is fit, McCarthy could switch to left back, where Bradley Cross is injured. Paseko Mako is another option.

MIDFIELD

Thabo Cele is back from injury, but is unlikely to start. Lebohang Maboe is one of the first names on the teamsheet. Siphesihle Ndlovu was absent for the last match and Sibongiseni Mthethwa is nursing a knee injury. George Matlou is another injury doubt.

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is the most likely partner for Maboe. Ethan Chislett's seven-month wait for a debut ended in midweek as he excelled as the number ten. He could start in that role, but Mduduzi Shabalala is another option.

ATTACK

On current form, both Glodi Lilepo and Fabio Da Silva look like certain starters. Mfundo Vilakazi and Pule Mmodi will fight for the final role.

Flavio Da Silva will play as the number nine with Khanyisa Mayo nursing a knock and Etiosa Ighodaro out injured.

Last match: Petersen; Solomons, Kwinika, McCarthy, Mako; Ngcobo (Cele 70’), Maboe (Sirino 86’); Lilepo, Chislett (Shabalala 70’), Du Preez (Vilakazi 70’); Silva (Duba 70’).

Predicted XI: Petersen; Monyane, Kwinika, Miguel, McCarthy; Maboe, Ngcobo; Lilepo, Chislett, Mmodi; Da Silva.
