Mamelodi Sundowns drew 0-0 away at Richards Bay on Sunday. Below are the player ratings for the Sundowns starting XI and subs. The Brazilians remained second in PSL table with five matches left to play.
STARTING XI:
Ronwen Williams: 8
The goalkeeper made a couple of crucial saves. Without those interventions, we may be talking about a shock Sundowns defeat.
Khuliso Mudau: 7
The right back had a typically excellent outing. Very little threat came down his side, though he did not contribute a whole lot to the attack.
Keanu Cupido: 8 - Man of the Match
The centre back made a crucial block in the second half. His pace was key in dealing with consistent opposition counter attacks.
Khulumani Ndamane: 6
The left-footed centre back kept things simple after his error in midweek. At times, he struggled with the pace of the Richards Bay front three.
Aubrey Modiba: 6
The left back got forward well, but it was not an easy evening against Sanele Barns. The direct dribbling and underaps on his side were the main source of danger.
Marcelo Allende: 6
The midfielder was steady, but not overly influential. His passing was too safe and it did little to open up the opponents - as evidenced by just one shot on target from 70% possession in the first half.
Jayden Adams: 6
He worked hard and looked to influence the game. It was not his evening, partly due to the side lacking number ten options between the lines.
Katlego Ntsabaleng: 5
The on-loan midfielder has been excellent of late. This was a quiet game as a pure number ten. He looks more effective when being used as a winger.
Arthur Sales: 6
The Brazilian playmaker went off injured in the first half. He was not on the pitch long enough to really affect the game.
Tashreeq Matthews: 6
The winger tried his best to open up a compact opponent. Things did not really come off for him, and he had a couple of shots which he sent wide.
Iqraam Rayners: 6
The striker was tightly marked. He was surprisingly taken off with more than 20 minutes to go.
SUBSTITUTES:
Monnapule Saleng: 5
The winger came on for Sales and alternated between being on the right and left flanks. It was not his most effective outing.
Thapelo Morena: 6
The speedster came on as a wingback, but it made very little difference in trying to break down a solid defence.
Lebo Mothiba: 6
He came on to bring a physical element to the side. His introduction played into the hands of Richards Bay.
Peter Shalulile: 7
The striker made an instant impression. He so nearly scored a late winner as his shot went a yard wide of the upright.
Teboho Mokoena: 6
He was given just 12 minutes. Sundowns missed his influence and he simply did not have long enough to try to turn the game.
