Flemming Berg Explains Transfer Advantage
After some big recent purchases with over R 100 million spent in the January transfer window, the Brazilians’ Sporting Director revealed a secret of their success. He said:
“I think in general our scouting department previously has wasted so much time on players that in the end you find out they were not a possibility anyway. TransferRoom gives us a lot of possibilities and knowledge, so we don’t waste time. On TransferRoom, you know straight away if a player is available.
“So it makes us a bit more efficient in that scouting work, but also gives us some possibilities to get into some markets that are otherwise difficult to get into.”
Sundowns Transfer Flops
This change in strategy should help avoid acquiring two many flops. In the last few seasons, there have been a few costly mistakes made in the transfer market.
Winger Bradley Ralani, forwards Pavol Safranko and Thabiso Kutumela, left back Sifiso Ngobeni and winger Erwin Saavedra are some of the more high-profile failed signings in the last couple of years.
Mamelodi Sundowns Transfer List
Since the end of last season, Sundowns have signed new players. Many of those signings are foreign players from the Sundowns scouting team.
The players acquired are as follows: Junior Mendieta (Stellenbosch FC), Lesiba Nku (Marumo Gallants), Lucas Ribeiro (Beveren), Thapelo Maseko (SuperSport United), Bathusi Aubaas (TS Galaxy), Matias Esquivel (Lanus), Zuko Mdunyelwa (Chippa United), Tashreeq Matthews (Sirius) and Thembinkosi Lorch (Orlando Pirates).
