39% – More than a third of the matches last season ended level, the highest percentage in PSL history.
Home Advantage Dwindling
Just 82 of the 240 league matches last season saw home wins.
Swallows were the first promoted side in the PSL side to go unbeaten at home (5 wins, 10 draws).
Only seven teams in PSL history have gone unbeaten at home.
34% – Only 82 of 240 matches saw a victory for the home side, the lowest percentage in PSL history.
Overs/Unders
Across this season, 163 out of 240 matches saw over 1.5 goals, the second most in PSL history.
However, we had the lowest number of matches with over 2.5 goals with just 81 of 240 matches seeing three or more goals.
Just 33 matches saw over 3.5 goals, a new low in the Premier Soccer League. Just 11 matches saw five goals or more with over 4.5 goals not proving a regular winning bet in the PSL.
159 matches saw under 2.5 goals but bookmakers offer very short odds on this bet by itself. A good way to get value is to go for a result/under 2.5 goals bet.
Clean Sheets
Eventual champions Mamelodi Sundowns kept 19 clean sheets in 30 matches. Their goalkeeper Denis Onyango kept 15 clean sheets in his 25 matches. AmaZulu, Golden Arrows and Marumo Gallants also kept 10+ clean sheets.
A good bet is the Premier Soccer League is backing a team to Win to Nil. That market provides better value than simply backing teams like Sundowns to win outright.
Goal Timing
There were 507 goals in the PSL this season, the third lowest ever tally.
A massive 120 of those goals came in the final 15 minutes, more than other any 15 minute segment within matches.
If using the live in-running markets to bet on the PSL, there is plenty of value in backing over 0.5 goals in the final 15 minutes of matches.
Correct Score Bets
Backing the correct score market brings incredible value for punters.
55 – The most common score-line in the PSL last season was a 1-1 draw, which happened on 55 occasions in 240 matches. Swallows drew 15 of their 30 matches by that score-line.
With the prevalence of this result, backing a team that is 1-0 down to score the next goal that offer excellent value.
