This is Cape Town City's final match of the PSL Promotion Playoff mini league and simply must win if they have any hope of gaining promotion. They did win their last fixture and feel they will bounce continue that trend.

Cape Town City began the promotion playoff in horrible fashion, losing 1-0 to fellow first division side, Milford. That was followed a few days later with a 2-0 loss to Magesi.

However, City bounced back in the return leg against Milford at the weekend, beating them 1-0 to keep their hopes alive of promotion, although they will still need to win here and hope the final game between Milford and Magesi goes their way.

We could conceivably get a situation where all three teams end on six points, but City simply must win this one first before concerning themselves with the final result.

Magesi Form

Magesi came into this mini league as the one PSL team having finished second from bottom and thus needing to fight to stay in the top league.

In their first game, Magesi looked strong despite their poor form at the end of the season, beating Cape Town City 2-0. However, that was followed by a 1-0 loss to Milford just over a week ago.

Fortunately for Magesi, Cape Town City defeated Milford this past weekend which keeps both of their hopes alive for PSL participation next season. While this isn't a must-win for Magesi, a victory, or even a point would put them in a position to stay in the PSL in their final match.
