Head to Head
Cape Town City and Casric Stars have never met before.
Casric Stars Form
Casric Stars finished the season in third place in the National First Division. They have never played in the PSL with this being their first real chance to get into the top league.
Over the course of the season, Stars won 13 of their 13 games, drawing nine and losing eight. They are unbeaten in their last five matches.
In their opening PSL playoff fixture, Casric Stars drew 0-0 against Orbit College, the side that finished one place ahead of them on the league table. This will be a good opportunity for the Stars to make their mark on the playoffs.
Casric Stars News
Casric Stars have a star in Kermit Erasmus, the former Cape Town player with plenty of PSL experience. While the forward has aged, he still possesses plenty of quality and is surely one to watch.
Cape Town City Form
Cape Town City finished second from bottom on the PSL table this season, thus being forced into the playoffs. Technically, they were bottom but Royal AM were banned from the league so automatically finished 16th.
The concern for City will be their lack of goals all season. They only managed 15 goals in their 28 league games this season while conceding 31.
City also ended the season with a 0-0 draw against Stellenbosch and opened their PSL playoffs with a 0-0 draw against Orbit College, a very disappointing result for the topflight side.
Cape Town City News
Cape Town City will be reliant on youngers, Emile Witbooi to create something special. He is the one positive attacking threat in the side and is considered among the top talents in the country.
Verdict
Cape Town City are backed to win this PSL playoff fixture 1-0 against Casric Stars.
