Barcelona entertain Real Madrid in El Clasico on Saturday afternoon. Both sides went down 1-0 in their last La Liga fixtures, so a cagey affair is expected at the Camp Nou in Barcelona.

Barcelona Form & News

Barcelona took maximum points from their opening two La Liga fixtures. A 4-0 home victory over Villarreal was backed up by a 3-0 win at Celta Vigo. Things have not been great since then.

Ronald Koeman's charges drew 1-1 at home with Sevilla before losing 1-0 at Getafe.

Barcelona’s most recent outing was a 5-1 home victory over Ferencvaros in the UEFA Champions League in midweek. Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho, Pedri, and Ousmane Dembélé scored he goals for Barca.

Barcelona are still without goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen with Neto to continue in the starting side. Defenders Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba remain on the sidelines.

Ousmane Dembélé came off the bench against Ferencvaros and provided a goal and an assist. He could start here at the expense of Trincão.

Expect Sergio Busquets and Antoine Griezmann to start against Real Madrid with Koeman facing some selection dilemmas.

Real Madrid Form & News

Real Madrid started the new La Liga campaign with a 0-0 draw at Real Sociedad. Los Blancos then went on a winning streak, claiming maximum points in three straight matches against Real Betis (3-2), Real Valladolid (1-0), and Levante (2-0).

Zinedine Zidane’s team then crumbled to a shock 1-0 defeat by Cadiz at home. It was a very poor performance from Real and a much-deserved win for the newly-promoted side.

Real then suffered another shock defeat, this time in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos fell to a 3-2 home loss against Shakhtar Donetsk. They nearly staged a comeback after being 3-0 down, but Shakhtar held on in the end.

Real Madrid central defender and captain Sergio Ramos has a minor knee injury but should return for El Clasico.

Right-backs Alvaro Odriozola and Dani Carvajal are both injured alongside attackers Martin Odegaard, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz.

Expect Toni Kroos, Vinícius Júnior and Karim Benzema to come back into the starting side.
