Aston Villa Form

Aston Villa have made a strong start to the 2024/25 season, with six wins from eight matches. The Midlands outfit have also scored 17 goals during this period.

During their current six-match unbeaten run, the Villans beat Young Boys 3-0 in the Champions League. This result came before a 3-1 win over Wolves and 2-1 victory at Wycombe.

Unai Emery’s side were on a five-match winning streak before a 2-2 draw at Ipswich on Sunday. Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins put Villa 2-0 up before they allowed 1.85 XG and conceded two second-half goals.

Aston Villa Injuries & Team News

Midfielders John McGin and Boubacar Kamara are ruled out for this clash.

Defensive pair Tyrone Mings and Matty Cash are also unavailable through injury.

Ollie Watkins is expected to start up front after scoring four goals in his last four appearances.

Bayern Munich Form

Bayern Munich have been relentless early this season during a six-match unbeaten streak. The Bundesliga side have already notched 26 goals in the 2024/25 campaign.

Nine of Bayern’s goals came in their 9-2 thrashing of Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, where Olise struck twice. Vincent Kompany’s side then beat Werder Bremen 5-0 as Olise struck another brace and assisted two.

Die Bayern were unable to extend their 100% winning start to the campaign and drew 1-1 against Bayer Leverkusen. Aleksandar Pavlovic cancelled out Leverkusen’s early opener but Bayern couldn’t strike again with 18 shots and settled for a draw.

Bayern Munich Injuries & Team News

Harry Kane came off injured against Leverkusen but is expected to make the squad here.

Defenders Sacha Boey, Josip Stanisic and Hiroki Ito are injured and won’t feature.

Verdict

Aston Villa v Bayern Munich

Quality attacks and under-performing defences have featured for Aston Villa and Bayern this season, leading to plenty of goals. In-form Olise is a serious goalscoring talent and can get chances to score against leaky Villa.
