Qarabag vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Qarabag have done well to keep inside the playoff zone but they have lots of work to do to secure that spot. The Azerbaijan side have won their last four games by a goal spread of 13-4. Frankfurt have lost three and drawn two of their last five games on the road and have won just one of their last nine games, losing four.

Despite the slump they are going through, Frankfurt are no pushovers as they are seventh in the Bundesliga and have averaged over two goals a game domestically. This looks like a tight game, but I’m backing the hosts to take the win in a game with plenty of goals.

Atalanta vs Athletic Bilbao

Athletic Bilbao are fighting to rise into the playoff spots, but a run of bad form is not building confidence with the bookmakers about their chances. Bilbao have just one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five Champions League games. In all competitions they have lost five of their last 10 matches, winning three.

Atalanta are enjoying a great Champions League campaign, winning four of their six games to sit on 13 points, level with third-placed PSG and fourth-placed Man City. They’ve won seven and drawn one of their last 10 matches in all competitions and should have the beating of the Spanish side.

Juventus vs Benfica

Both teams have two wins to their credit in the tournament, but Benfica has suffered four defeats, while Juve have lost just once. Both sides have won their last two games in the tournament and have lost just two of their last 10 games, although Benfica’s defeats have come in their last three games.

Both sides have been scoring plenty of goals in the last two months and both have scored in nine of their last 10 games. With home ground advantage and a slightly better balance in the form book I’ll go for Juventus to win with both teams to score.

Slavia Prague vs Barcelona

Slavia are fourth from bottom of the Champions League and are within points range of the playoffs but will need to win both of their remaining two matches. Barca will be pushing to get into the top 8 and will need one or two wins to be assured of that placing.

Barca’s 11-match winning streak ended on the weekend when they lost away to Real Sociedad (2–1), but they’ve been in impressive form and scoring goals for fun. Slavia have also been scoring (and conceding) plenty of goals, but they have lost two, drawn one and won two of their last five games so Barca should have their number.

Verdict

Qarabag to take struggling Frankfurt for three points, while Atalanta to see off Athletic Bilbao.

Juventus to take battling Benfica out of the running for the playoffs, while Slavia’s playoff hopes to end at the hands of Barcelona.
