Champions League predictions - 9 December 2025, Round 6

Round 6 of the Champions League promises exciting clashes. Atalanta's strong home form and Chelsea's recent struggles hint at a potential Atalanta win. Monaco will face a tough challenge against Galatasaray, who are favored to win. PSV is expected to continue their impressive run against a faltering Atlético Madrid. Marseille is predicted to emerge victorious over Royale Union SG, given their recent goal-scoring form. Overall, the games are expected to be high-scoring encounters, with thrilling moments throughout.

Champions League Predictions, Round 6


Atalanta vs Chelsea


Atalanta head into the match with plenty of goals under their belt, but they also have some defensive lapses to worry about. Chelsea are stuttering with three matches without a win since their 3-0 triumph over Barcelona. Both sides are on 10 points and in the Top 10 of the table, but with home ground advantage this feels like it should be Atalanta’s night to take at least one point, if not all three.

Atalanta’s three-match winning streak included home wins against Genoa (4–0) and Fiorentina (2–0), plus a 3–0 away win at Frankfurt, but their last match was a bitter 3–1 defeat at Verona which hints at their vulnerability.

Monaco vs Galatasaray


Monaco are struggling after defeats in five, although they pulled out a superb 1-0 home win over PSG in Ligue 1. They’ve hit the net just five times in their last five matches while conceding 11. Galatasaray have won three of their five Champions League matches this season, while Monaco have picked up just one win, drawing three times.

This has the makings of an open game with goals flying in at both ends, but I’d back Galatasaray for the win as they’ve won three and drawn one of their last five away games.

PSV vs Atlético Madrid


PSV are on a sparkling run, winning 11 and drawing three of their last 14 games, including their last five in a row. They beat AZ 5–1, NAC 1–0, Heerenveen 2–0, Volendam 3–0… but the cherry on top was an awesome 4–1 victory at Anfield. In their last five games they’ve knocked in 15 goals, conceding just two. 

Atlético have enjoyed a seven-match winning streak before back-to-back away losses in La Liga. They lost first to Barcelona (3–1) before a 1-0 defeat against Blbao. This should be a third straight away defeat for Atletico.

Royale Union SG vs Marseille


Both sides come into the match with three wins, a loss and a draw in their last five games, along with two wins and three defeats in the Champions League. Royale have a 5:12 goal split, which doesn’t augur well for them, while Marseille are 8:6 to the good.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two clubs, and with Royale only scoring two goals twice in their last seven matches - compared to Marseille with returns of 3-5-2-2-1 goals in their last five matches - it looks like a match with its fair share of goals, but with Marseille taking away the bigger slice of the pie.

Verdict

Atalanta to keep Chelsea at bay, while Galatasaray to drive home their advantage over stuttering Monaco.

PSV to plunder Atletico Madrid, Royale Union to go down to Marseille.
