Palace have lost three and won just one of their last five matches, but that win was vital as it gave them a 3-1 lead over Shakhtar Donetsk coming into the 2nd leg at Selhurst Park, so the odds look strong for Palace. They’ve lost two of their last three games while conceding three goals, but both matches were away from home. Before that they went six matches without defeat, so they have recent form on their side.

Shakhtar lost just one match in their last nine, and that was at home to Palace, so although their form is superb it looks like Palace have their number. Shakhtar are unbeaten in their last eight matches on the road, but Palace are unbeaten at home in their last seven matches, winning four and keeping six clean sheets.

Palace are overwhelming favourites to go through to the final, so the odds are attractive to back them, but the smart money should push for both teams to score and for four goals or more in the match, considering that Shakhtar have scored two or more goals in each of their last six matches on the road.

Strasbourg vs Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano travel to Strasbourg with a slim one-goal lead, but the hosts have been in poor form, losing four of their last five matches. They have also failed to score in four of their last seven matches. Rayo Vallecano have won three and drawn one of their last four matches with three clean sheets.

Strasbourg had a good run of eight matches unbeaten on the trot at home but have lost their last three matches, scoring just one goal. Rayo Vallecano lost three on the bounce on the road before winning their last match 2-0 against Getafe. They have won just two of their last 10 matches on the road.

With neither side showing great defensive resistance I can only think of backing a scrappy, high-scoring draw.
