Portugal suffered a 4-2 defeat against Germany in their second game. Ronaldo opened the scoring but they found themselves 4-1 down in the 60th minute, Diogo Jota getting one back and Renato Sanches hitting the post.

Ronaldo has scored four goals in his last three internationals.

Didier Deschamps’ side won four straight heading into the European Championship. That included 3-0 wins against Wales and Bulgaria in international friendlies.

Les Bleus opened their Euro 2020 campaign with a 1-0 win against Germany. They went ahead through an own goal but controlled the match and could have won by a bigger margin.

France were then held to a 1-1 draw against Hungary in Budapest. Antoine Griezmann equalised in the 66th minute but they couldn’t find a winner against a disciplined opponent.
