However, after his dismissal, the innings stalled under pressure from the Tridents' bowlers. Late contributions from Hassan Khan (16) and Keacy Carty (15) pushed Jamaica to 150/9 in their 20 overs.
The Kingsmen had the Tridents on the ropes at 33/3 inside six overs due to tight bowling and a direct hit run-out by Rovman Powell. Sadrack Descartes single-handedly kept the Tridents in the hunt with 56 off 42 balls.
The Kingsmen bowlers and fielders were unable to sustain the pressure and defend the 17 runs required off the final over, which allowed Gudakesh Motie to clinch victory off the last ball.
