Rayo Vallecano vs Espanyol


Both sides have been low on goals and wins in their last five matches, but neither have been goalless in those five matches. Rayo Vallecano have three defeats in their five La Liga matches, conceding 11 goals to five in their last three matches.

Espanyol have just one win in five on the road but have scored nine goals to 10, so their attack force is strong on the road. Rayo Vallecano are undefeated at home in their last nine matches, picking up six wins, scoring 16 goals. Despite their poor form of late I don’t see them losing at home, but it looks like we’re in for a pile of goals with both sides scoring. 

Alaves vs Valencia


Valencia look to be ripe for the picking after losing their last four matches following their goalless draw in the opening match of the season. They’ve scored just one goal in those five matches, which included a 5-0 home defeat to Barcelona. They have also failed to score in their last three matches against Alaves.

Alaves have been on a stormer, winning their last four home matches with three clean sheets. Their last home match saw them beat Osasuna 5-2, although their last match (away to Racing Santander) saw them suffer their first loss of the season. This has home win with a clean sheet written all over it. 

Elche vs Real Madrid


Real are in devastating form, despite losing 1-0 away to Betis at the start of September. They’ve won four of their last five matches by an aggregate score of 14-3 and have scored 15 goals in their last five matches against Elche. This looks like a goalfest with Real gorging themselves.

Elche have lost their last two home games, conceding eight and scoring just twice and have only picked up two points from their five matches in La Liga this season. They were hammered 5-0 at home by Barcelona but have scored in four of their last five matches so I’m backing a similar result against Real. 

Verdict

I’m backing goals between Rayo Vallecano and Espanyol, as well as wins with a clean sheet for Alaves and Real Madrid.
