Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans Predictions - Rubin Hermann to halt Sultans’ strong start

Editor
Last updated: 02 Apr 2026

In the upcoming PSL match, Lahore Qalandars, with their home ground advantage, are poised to face Multan Sultans. The Qalandars, despite a recent close loss to Karachi Kings, are expected to bounce back. Star players like Rubin Hermann, who recently made a dynamic debut, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are key to their strategy. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans come into the match with confidence from two consecutive victories, thanks to outstanding performances by Sahibzada Farhan. The game promises to be a fascinating contest between Qalandars' bowling and Sultans' consistent batting.

Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans Predictions

The Sultans are in good form with two wins on the trot, but both against two of the weaker sides in the PSL. The Qalandars went down to the powerful Karachi Kings after beating the Kingsmen, but they look strong enough to defeat the Sultans with home ground advantage.

  • Lahore Qalandars’ Rubin Hermann hit 10 fours in his 39-ball 53 against New Zealand.
  • Lahore Qalandars’ Haseebullah Khan scored 20*, 49*, 40* & 28 in his last 4 innings.
  • Multan Sultans’ Sahibzada Farhan hit 100*, 63, 100, 27, 31 & 106* in his last 8 knocks.
  • Multan Sultans’ Steven Smith has scored 37, 65, 24, 31 & 46 in his last 5 innings.

Head-to-Head

Lahore Qalandars have won two and lost three of their last five T20s against the Multan Sultans.

Lahore Qalandars Form

After winning their opening match of the season by 69 runs, the Qalandars lost to the Karachi Kings with just three balls to spare.

The Qalandars’ top-order failed to fire as they were restricted to 128/9 off their 20 overs on a tricky, two-paced pitch. Abdullah Shafique (33 off 24) and Haseebullah Khan (28 off 30) were the only two Qalandars batters to reach 20.

The Qalandars bowlers put in a terrific spell of bowling to put the Kings batters under pressure. Shaheen Shah Afridi (4/18, econ 4.50) was magnificent in knocking over four of the Kings’ top five batters. Mustafizur Rahman (1/20, econ 5.00) also bowled superbly but couldn’t prevent a 4-wicket defeat with just three balls to spare.

Multan Sultans Form

The Sultans made it two wins from their first two matches of the series when they beat the Kingsmen by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare.

Mohammad Wasim was the pick of the Sultans bowlers, returning figures of 4-0-37-2 (econ 9.25) as the Kingsmen posted a competitive score of 225/5 off their 20 overs. Ashton Turner (1/28) and Peter Siddle (1/39) kept the runs down to under 10 to the over off their bowling.

Sahibzada Farhan scored a magnificent 106* off 57 balls in a 1st wicket stand of 104 with Steven Smith (46 off 20) that set up a 6-wicket win with 10 balls to spare.

Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans Team News & Squads

Fakhar Zaman has been in good form with the bat but is serving a two-match ban for ball-tampering, which is a big blow for the Qalandars. Proteas new-boy Rubin Hermann is likely to fill Zaman’s boots after an impressive debut series against New Zealand.

Zimbabwe skipper and all-rounder Sikandar Raza has been in great form with bat and ball and his all-round contribution is likely to make the difference between the two sides.

Lahore Qalandars possible XI: Rubin Hermann, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, Parvez Hossain Emon, Sikandar Raza, Haseebullah Khan, Usama Mir, Shaheen Afridi (c), Haris Rauf, Mustafizur Rahman, Ubaid Shah.

Multan Sultans possible XI: Sahibzada Farhan, Steven Smith, Josh Philippe, Shan Masood, Ashton Turner (c), Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Nawaz, Peter Siddle, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shehzad Gul, Momin Qamar.

Verdict

I am backing Lahore Qalandars to win. I am also backing Rubin Hermann to top score for Lahore Qalandars.

Sahibzada Farhan is a good bet to top score for the Multan Sultans.
