Ryan Rickelton is the tournament’s all-time leading runscorer, with Marco Jansen taking the most wickets.
SA20’s fourth season takes place from 26 December 2025 to 25 January 2026.

Title-winning form

Sunrisers Eastern Cape are head and shoulder the most successful team in the tournament. They won the inaugural SA20 in 2023 and defended their title in 2024. They were on track for a three-peat in 2025, only to lose in the final to MI Cape Town.

Defending champions MI Cape Town picked up the wooden spoon in their first two seasons, but with some sharp purchases at the 2025 auction they revitalised their squad. MI Cape Town finished the 2025 season on top of the table ahead of the playoffs, going on to defeat Sunrisers in the final.

Highest and lowest team scores

The highest score posted in the tournament is 254/4 off 20 overs by Durban's Super Giants against Pretoria Capitals in the 2023 season. Sadly for fans of the Pretoria Capitals, they also feature at the wrong end of the lowest-ever score when they were bowled out for just 52 off 13.3 by the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the 2024 season.

Ryan Rickelton is the leading runscorer in the history of the SA20, racking up 1012 runs in his three seasons with MI Cape Town. Kyle Verreynne has the highest score in the series, smashing 116* off 52 balls for Pretoria Capital against MI Cape Town in 2023/24.

Top bowler and best bowling figures

Marco Jansen is the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, snaring 47 wickets in his three seasons with Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Four bowlers have picked up five wickets in an innings in the three years of the SA20, but Roelof van der Merwe went one better for Sunrisers, taking 6/20 against the Durban Super Giants in 2023.

Catches win matches

The leading dismissals behind the stumps by a wicketkeeper is 28 by Tristan Stubbs, which includes three stumpings. David Miller, Marco Jansen and Aiden Markram are level-pegged with 18 catches in the outfield and slip cordon.
