The first Test meeting saw Australia win by an innings and 226 runs, with India being bowled out for 58 and 98 after Australia posted 382/8 declared, with Bradman scoring 185 runs. India had to wait nine Tests until 1959 for their first Test win, which was by 119 runs in Kanpur.
