Chiquinho Conde’s side found their scoring boots in a 3-2 victory against Gabon. Geny Catamo assisted Faizal Bangal before netting a penalty, Diogo Calila making it 3-1 before holding on under heavy pressure.

The Mambas ended the group stage with a 2-1 loss to Cameroon. Catamo opened the scoring but they were eventually overpowered, ending with 1.07-2.35 xG.
