Derby vs Middlesbrough

Boro are in second place but have three sides chasing them hard, while Derby are pretty secure in mid-table. Derby have picked up just two points from their last four home matches, although they have beaten Boro three times and drawn twice in their last two home matches against them.

Middlesbrough have two wins and two draws from their last five matches on the road, and considering their powerful first half of the season I can’t see them losing to Derby. A draw does make sense based on the overall form book.

Hull vs Stoke

Hull are two points behind second-placed Boro and are enjoying a great run of form, winning five and drawing one of their last seven matches. Stoke are well set in 10th place, but they have lost five and drawn one of their last seven matches, so they are in something of a slump.

Stoke are also not enjoying travelling, losing their last four games on the road with a 8:1 goal spread.

Southampton vs Millwall

Millwall are hanging onto their playoff spot desperately, while Southampton have their eyes cast below them, albeit they are 10 points clear of the drop zone and seven short of the playoffs. Both sides have just one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five matches.

Southampton have won four and drawn one of their last five home games, while Millwall have lost three, drawn one and won one of their last five, so I’m backing a home win.

Swansea vs West Brom

Both sides have an eye on the drop zone, so they will be keen to gain an advantage over their rivals. Swansea have won their last three home games, conceding just one goal and scoring five.

The Baggies have lost their last eight games on the road (scoring six goals), so this is clearly stacking up as a comfortable Swansea win.

Verdict

Derby and Middlesbrough to draw, while Hull look set to keep Stoke’s slump going.

Millwall’s poor away form to continue and Swansea to claim three vital points.
