Millwall vs Hull

Millway and Hull both won their away match against each other in their two Championship league matches during the season. Both claimed 3-1 away wins, and in their playoff semi-final first leg match they drew 0-0 at Hull. The return match at Millwall should be to their advantage in front of their home crowd.

Millwall look the more likely to win as they’re undefeated in their last six matches, with three wins and four clean sheets. Hull have scraped together just one victory in their last eight matches, although they have lost just twice in that stretch. They are also winless in five matches on the road, losing three times.

With home-ground advantage and just one defeat in nine matches, I’m backing Millwall for the win and for Hull to score less than two goals. Hull scoring under two goals offers a small payout, so I’ll pin my bet on Millwall to score two goals or more.

Southampton vs Middlesbrough

These sides also hit a 0-0 draw in the first leg played at Boro, so the advantage shifts to the Saints in what will be the decider. Boro have lost just twice in their last 10 matches, but they have also struggled to secure wins, with six of those matches ending in draws.

Boro have scored 14 goals in those 10 matches, thanks largely for a 5-1 rout against Watford. They scored one goal or less in six of their last 10 and have drawn their last four matches on the road.

Southampton look the favourites for the win as they’re on a 12-match unbeaten run that includes nine wins, including a 2-1 win over Arsenal that took them to the FA Cup semi-final. They have conceded just one goal or less in 10 of their last 12 home matches, scoring 24 goals.

Southampton definitely look the side worth backing to take the tie and secure a spot in the playoff final.
