Liverpool recorded the win they needed on Thursday with a 4-2 victory over rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The win moved the Reds to without four points of the top four with a game in hand, and kept their Champions League qualification hopes alive.

Bruno Fernandes put United in front before Diogo Jota and a Robert Firmino double handed Liverpool a 3-1 lead. Marcus Rashford reduced the deficit only for Mo Salah to win it for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp's side were 2-0 winners over Southampton on Saturday thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara.

Liverpool's injury list is still extensive with defenders Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Ozan Kabak all unavailable due to injuries.

Backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is still out, as are midfield trio Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and James Milner.

Forward Divock Origi is also ruled out.

Saido Mane was left on the bench against Man United but is expected to start at The Hawthorns.
