Eswatini let a handy lead slip against Angola in their qualification match midweek, drawing 2-all. 

Eswatini could not find an opening in the first half against Angola, as the two sides went into the break on level terms.

Eswatini had a perfect start to the second half, taking the lead in the 48th minute of the match and grabbing their second goal six minutes later; however, Angola pulled a goal back after 69 minutes of play and scored the equaliser 11 minutes later.

Before that result, Eswatini contested two FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September. They lost 3-0 to Cameroon and 2-0 to Libya. 

Eswatini are bottom in Group D with three points from nine matches. They have lost six and drawn three. 

Sihlangu Semnikati have drawn three of their last five fixtures, including two defeats. They scored five goals and conceded ten.  

Eswatini have won two of their last five away matches, including three defeats. They scored four goals and conceded 11.

Eswatini have had a poor qualifying campaign, failing to win a game, and they have yet to beat Cape Verde in five attempts.
