Andorra vs Albania

Andorra could be in for a pasting, having lost six of their seven matches in Group K, without a win. They’re down 3:15 in goal difference and have no pride left to play for against Albania, who are second in the group. Albania are one point ahead of Serbia and the two are fighting it out for the group’s World Cup second qualifying round. Albania lost their opening game in the group, but have won three and drawn two since then. Albania will throw everything at Andorra, but they’ve only scored six goals in their six matches, so don’t expect a goalfest.

England vs Serbia

England are 6-for-6 in Group K and will want to close out their campaign with two more wins. They’ve also scored 18 goals without conceding, so they are a team on fire. Serbia will be at them from the start as they look to make up the one-point deficit against Albania for the crucial second spot in the group… but they’ve scored just seven times, and conceded seven in return. Two months ago the teams met in Serbia… and England won 5-0, so at Wembley Serbia are surely in for another hiding.

France vs Ukraine

France are undefeated in qualifying and beat Ukraine 2-0 away from home in their group clash. Ukraine are close to securing qualification and might set their store out to a draw against a side that has lost just twice in their last 3 matches (against powerful Spain and Croatia sides). France drew their last match 2-2 against Iceland, who Ukraine beat 5-3 away from home, and Ukraine followed their defeat to France with a draw and two wins. It could be a draw loading, which has good odds, but France are runaway favourites at 1.16 for the win… but the form book suggests this could be the right time to take good odds on a draw.

Ireland vs Portugal

Portugal have won three and drawn one of their four games, but they aren’t yet guaranteed a place in the finals. Portugal’s six–match winning streak ended in their 2-2 draw with Hungary a month ago. Portugal have scored 11:4, but beat Ireland by just the single goal in their earlier group match. Ireland haven’t beaten Portugal since 2005, losing four and drawing one of their five games since then. Ireland scored just two goals in those five games compared to Portugal’s 11 goals… and Portugal have kept clean sheets in their last three games against Ireland, who have scored just four goals in their last five games. Portugal are in form and strong, so I see this as a win with a clean sheet.
