Before that, APR FC had a poor start to their campaign, losing by five goals to nil against Gor Mahia. 

The Lions have won four of their last five games, with one defeat. They scored eight goals and conceded eight. 

APR FC picked up crucial points in their last match in their bid to make the Kagame Cup semi-finals, but face a tricky final group game against the Vipers, as their opponents have been in solid form during the competition.

Vipers SC left it late to record back-to-back victories in this edition of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, edging Gor Mahia 1-0 in second-half stoppage time on Monday. 

The Venoms had 56% possession and eight shots in the game, with one attempt on target.

Before that result, the Vipers kicked off their Group A campaign with a solid 3-0 victory over Garde Republicaine. 

The Venoms have won four of their last five matches, with one draw. They scored ten goals and conceded one. 

Vipers SC have registered four victories in a row and will be pleased to have won their Group A matches without conceding a goal, giving them the edge needed to come out on top against APR FC and progress to the CECAFA Kagame Cup semi-finals.

Djibril Ouattara scored a brace against Garde Republicaine, registering his first two goals in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Mamadou Traore was also on the scoresheet, securing his first goal in the competition.

Vipers SC

Gusto Mulongo scored a dramatic late winner against Gor Mahia, registering his first goal in this edition of the CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Farouk Miya has been on target with two goals in the competition so far.

Karim Watambala has contributed one goal.
