Both teams are in poor form and looking for some confidence. With nothing riding on this game, I suspect both teams may play with less pressure. Regardless, they both struggle to score and keep clean sheets, so a score draw is my best bet.

Lesotho lead 3-0 in their last seven games against Malawi. There have been four draws. Lesotho defeated Malawi 1-0 in the COSAFA Cup in June this year.

Lesotho finished fourth in their recent FIFA World Cup qualifying group. Benin, Nigeria and South Africa finished above them, so it was a very good campaign for them.

Lesotho lost three of their last four matches in the qualifiers, going down 3-0 to South Africa, 4-0 to Benin, 2-1 to Nigeria before beating Zimbabwe 1-0 on the final day.

There is no AFCON later this year for Lesotho to look forward to so these friendlies will be about building for their next qualifying campaign.

Malawi Form

Malawi had a very disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign, finishing second from bottom in their group with 10 points. They won three and drew one of their matches.

Malawi beat Namibia 2-1 before a 2-2 draw against Liberia in September. Their first game in October was postponed against Equatorial Guinea, but Malawi lost their final game 1-0 away to Sao Tome and Principe.
