The deal is a loan until June with an option for Amakhosi to acquire his services permanently. Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung had the following to say:

Cross Release Clause Activated

The addition of Blom on loan comes on the same day as Chiefs triggered the R 3million release clause of Golden Arrows left back, Bradley Cross.

The former Newcastle United youth prospect was also previously on the books of Bundesliga side Schalke 04’s Under-19. He spent two seasons at Arrows and made the provisional Bafana Bafana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

Cross told the Amakhosi website: “I am honoured to be part of such a prestigious Club. I am ready to give my best and help Kaizer Chiefs achieve their goals and objectives.”

Nasreddine Nabi Endorses Blom Arrival

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi expressed his approval at the return of Njabulo Blom to the Naturena-based club. Speaking at the launch of the new season, the Tunisian coach said:

“I’m very happy for Njabulo, ex-player, he is a boy from the family. I’m sure he has a big personality and big quality. You need to use him correctly.

“I will continue to work together with the committee, with my staff and scouting to look for the best players for the club.”

Blom will compete with Yusuf Maart, Edson Castillo, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Samkelo Zwane for a place in central midfield.
