Mamelodi Sundowns, fresh off their CAF Champions League win, are poised for a busy transfer window. The club has signed young talents like Antonio Van Wyk and Siyanda Ndlovu, and are pursuing Nigerian international Olisa Ndah, despite foreign player limits. Rumors suggest star winger Lucas Ribeiro could also return, depending on FIFA clearance and potential compensation. A busy transfer window awaits CAF Champions League winners, Mamelodi Sundowns. The club has already signed wingers Antonio Van Wyk and Siyanda Ndlovu, with many more moves on the horizon.

Nigerian International On Sundowns Radar

Olisa Ndah is a target for Mamelodi Sundowns after leaving Stellenbosch. The former Orlando Pirates centre back is a Nigerian international and is available on a free transfer.

One potential issue is that Sundowns have the allowed maximum of five foreign players registered.

Is Lucas Ribeiro Returning to Sundowns?

Rumours are intensifying that Lucas Ribeiro Costa could return to Sundowns. The right winger was the 2024-25 PSL Footballer of the Season after scoring 16 league goals.

He left the club a year ago to join the Spanish Segunda Division Club, Cultural Leonesa. His side were relegated last season and Ribeiro's contract has come to an end.

The player was only allowed to depart Masandawana after FIFA ruled to cancel his contract. However, that process is not finalised, and it appears that Ribeiro would need to pay compensation to Sundowns or be reinstated.

Two Other Signings Linked

Mamelodi Sundowns are also said be chasing Argentine defensive midfielder Mateo Tanlongo from Sporting CP.

Cassius Mailula is reportedly training at Mamelodi Sundowns.

The striker left Downs for Toronto FC but spent much of his time at the MLS club out on loan, first at Wydad Casablanca and then at Belgian Challenger Pro League club Kortrijk.

Sundowns Exits on the Cards

A number of players are set to depart Mamelodi Sundowns in this transfer window.

Young winger Siyabonga Mabena is being tipped for a loan move to the University of Pretoria.

Left backs, Asekho Tiwani, Terrence Mashego, Fawaaz Basadien and Siyanda Msani are all in the shop window as they seek regular first team football.

Thapelo Maseko, the scorer of Bafana Bafana's winner against South Korea in the FIFA World Cup 2026, is set to depart. The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season out on loan at AEL Limassol in Cyprus and could return for another spell.
