Sundowns welcomed back Peter Shalulile up front against Pirates and he should start again. Kermit Erasmus may be rotated due to his injury record so Gift Motupa could get an opportunity.

Gaston Sirino remains absent in midfield and Rushine De Reuck is doubtful in central defence.

Maritzburg have had a big uptick in form of late with four wins and four draws in their last nine matches. They sit 12th in the PSL table but are just three points clear of the relegation zone.

After a 5-1 thrashing of Chippa United, Maritzburg lost 2-0 at Orlando Pirates before drawing 1-1 with Baroka are leading 1-0. A smash-and-grab 1-0 win at Stellenbosch came next after a last minute penalty.

Maritzburg have just one injury to deal with a winger Jose Ali Meza misses out after surgery. Coach Ernst Middendorp is expected to set up quite defensively and has been used fullbacks as wide players to track back.
