Mamelodi Sundowns vs Milford Predictions - Brazilians to Win Big in PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns are strongly favored to win against Milford, who are playing their first-ever clash at this level. Sundowns enter this match in top form and are expected to secure a dominant victory with a clean sheet, possibly beating a -2 handicap. Milford, although newly promoted and having started well, face a tough task against an experienced Sundowns squad. Key players are missing for both teams, but Sundowns’ depth and attacking power are likely to be decisive. The recommendation is to back Sundowns for a convincing win.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Milford Predictions

Sundowns are tipped to win this match by a big margin and with a clean sheet.

Key Stats – Sundowns Backed For Big Win

  • Mamelodi Sundowns have won 16 of their last 21 PSL matches.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns have seen BTTS Yes in 11 of their last 15 matches.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns have scored 8 goals in their last 2 matches.
  • Milford have lost 2 of their last 6 matches.
  • Milford have seen BTTS No in 8 of their last 10 matches.

Head to Head – First Ever Clash

This is the first meeting between these clubs.

Sundowns Form – Into MTN8 Cup Final

Sundowns have won just nine of their last 16 matches. They secured a place in October’s MTN8 Cup final against Orlando Pirates.

Downs beat Marumo Gallants 2-0 in the league before a shock 1-0 home loss to Golden Arrows in the MTN8 semi-final first leg. That defeat came despite a 25-8 shot count in a dominant display.

Last midweek, Sundowns beat AmaZulu 5-2 in the league with a 21-8 shot count. In Sunday’s second leg vs Golden Arrows, Sundowns won 3-2 away and progressed to the final on away goals.

Milford Have Started Well – Promoted Via Playoffs, Seven Points Already

Milford have seven points from four rounds of action in the top flight. They were promoted from the First Division via the playoffs.

Their opening match in the Betway Premiership was a 2-0 loss at Orlando Pirates. They beat Siwelele 1-0 at home despite being outshot 15-10.

Milford beat fellow new boys Kruger United with ten men and a 22-10 shot count in a fine performance. Their last match brought a credible 0-0 draw at Polokwane City as they dominated 16-7 on the shot stats.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Mamelodi Sundowns (4-2-3-1): Goss; Mdunyelwa, Khoza, Ndamane, Modiba; T. Mokoena, Mkhulise; Matthews, B. Mokoena Van Wyk; Rayners.

Sundowns are without two defenders in Keanu Cupido and Khuliso Mudua due to injury. Coach Miguel Cardoso could heavily rotate his XI.

Arthur Sales and Tsiki Ntsabaleng are injured in attack. Iqraam Rayners could be handed a start as the number nine.

Milford (4-1-4-1): Hleza; Bhengu, Mthabela, Cele, Mdluli; Mthiyane; Zikakayo, Mabena, Nomandela, Gxakoshe; Masilela.

Milford’s coach and chairman, Dr Xanti Pupuma will keep a similar XI to the other matches. His squad lacks top -flight experience but carries a surprise element.

Menzi Chili is suspended in midfield for this match after his red card against Kruger United.

Verdict

Sundowns are tipped for a victory with a clean sheet. I see them beating the -2 handicap.
